Periwinkles

Periwinkle, Vinca minor, is used to make a chemotherapeutic drug called Vincristine. Here’s a link to some not-so-useful unformation about the periwinkle. Then I came across this flower in a bunch of people’s gardens. I should know what it is but I don’t. I’m just starting on this whole botany thing. Kevin? Any ideas? An example of the monocot leaves (parallel veins) can be seen behind it.

And don’t forget the beautiful magnolias in bloom now.
